Brothers,

Much Like Stony Brook the Northport VA will require volunteers every Sunday morning for services for our resident Vets. Once more info is availble and the facility is back open for visitors info will be posted here.

Suffolk Masonic District Military Outreach

Brethren,

I hope the word has reached all the Brothers in the District that we have been actively supporting the Long Island State Veterans Home – Stony Brook.      I want to personally thank you for all the support you have shown for the Masonic Service Association, and in particular the Veterans residing at the Long Island State Veterans Home (LISVH), Stony Brook.

The support provided by the Brothers of our Masonic community has made an important contribution to the quality of life of the LISVH residents.  As in the past, this year we would like to assist the residents in attending various functions – musical entertainment, a fishing trip, a Ducks game, and other events to enhance the resident’s quality of life.

I am grateful to all the volunteers – especially those who have opted to become full time volunteers – that being said it is vital that Brothers throughout our district continue to gain exposure to the LISVH program in order to maintain the same level of support.  I am asking Brothers throughout our District to become involved, and also act as Mentors to accompany newly raised Brothers to attend some of the community service activities provided throughout our District.  Please take the time during your next Lodge meeting to inform the brethren of volunteer opportunities at the Long Island State Veterans Home – Stony Brook.

We meet in the lobby of the Home at 1:00 for light refreshment and begin transporting residents at 1:30.  An entertainment program runs from 2:00-3:00 and we escort residents to their rooms at the conclusion.  Please feel free to bring family and friends.    As previously stated in other communications – no single Lodge has the resources to meet this challenge alone – but together, we are improving the quality of life for the Veterans residing in the Long Island State Veterans Home.  Thank you.
