Like much of the rich history of Freemasonry in general and especially in Suffolk County; there are many Lodges within the District that are celebrating long life and history.
On November 24, 1866, a small group of men gathered in Riverhead to form a Masonic Lodge. The first meeting was in a small wooden building behind Jacob Meyer’s store which was located on Main Street in Riverhead. From this humble beginning, Riverhead Lodge #645 has grown with Riverhead Town and is now 130 members strong. The Grand Lodge of the State of New York granted Riverhead Lodge a Charter in July 1867.
Riverhead Lodge of Freemasons has a long-standing scholarship that is awarded annually to a Riverhead High School student, has participated in child ID programs, volunteers at the Northport Veterans Home, and is a proud member of the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce.
On September 23, 2017, we will have a rededication ceremony at our building at 1246 Roanoke Ave. followed by a luncheon at the Suffolk Theater. As part of this historical event we are offering listings in a commemorative journal to businesses and friends. Please find attached a listing of the available options. Should you wish to purchase individual tickets or a table at our luncheon, please feel free to contact me as your presence would be greatly welcomed.
Please note that we have a due date of May 31, 2017.
Thank you in advance for your support.
