The Grand Lecturer’s Convention will be held on Saturday March 16th at Riverhead Lodge. The program starts at 2PM with our Grand Lecturer, R W Richard Friedman who always provides a great program with so much energy and love for our Ritual.
The 2024 Grand lecturer’s Convention is open to Master Masons Only.
There will be a dinner in the Lodge collation room after the program. Dinner is free for all who attend. It has been a tradition of the Suffolk Masonic District for many years that each Lodge is obligated to donate $75 to cover the cost of the dinner regardless of the number of brothers that attend from their Lodge, so please encourage your Brothers to attend and especially encourage all of the Lodge officers to attend to receive the coveted Potts Award.
The MAGLA competition this year will be The Closing Charge and will take place after the Convention and before dinner. If a brother from your Lodge wishes to participate in this challenge, please have him contact V W Bruce Siska, also have him contact me as I would love to close my official visit with a Brother who can give The Closing Charge without having to read it, it will be good practice.
We are going to need to know how many brothers will be having dinner, so I am asking each brother to register below, and RSVP will be set at “No Charge” or have them contact me so we can give Chef Dominik and Chef Bobby an accurate head count.
From the AGLs regarding the MAGLA Competition part:
Brethren,
Here is the memorization work that will be required of those entrants in our District Ritual Competition, to be held the afternoon of our Grand Lecturer’s Convention on Saturday
March 16th. There will be two categories, as in the past. Brothers with 10 or more years in the craft, and those with less than 10 years.
The winners will then have a chance to compete at Grand Lodge in the MAGLA Competition, to be held on April 30th.
Contact any AGL to sign -up. You can email AG*@su***********.com
Good luck to all entrants.
