Fraternal Greetings reader,
Welcome to the Suffolk District Newsletter. First Edition! Vol.1 Issue 1
Here you will find info about upcoming events, articles of interest and other items every Mason in the district should know. The newsletter will be published monthly to subscribers (bi-monthly if necessary). The newsletter will be distributed on the first of every month. Deadline for submission of events or articles will be the 25th of the month before.
You're receiving this newsletter because you registered on the Suffolk Masonic District Website or you are a subscriber to the District Newsletter already. You can edit your personal information or primary email by clicking on the "edit your subscription" at the bottom of this Newsletter.
What you'll find in the Suffolk District Newsletter is what the Members put into it. Sounds easy right? Let's face it, no one person can know everything that is going on in the District. So with that in mind the Suffolk Masonic District Website has been updated and fortified with superpowers...well not quite superpowers, but it's been enhanced with abilities to enable members of the Suffolk District to update everyone else as to what's happening at Lodges around the District.
So how is this done? Well Masons of the District, all of them, may register and Login to the Site and post articles and some, as designated by the Masters of their respective Lodges, may add events to the District Calendar. Plus much more.
So how is this laid out exactly? Well the primary mission of the Newsletter and the District Website is to inform and disseminate information about Lodge functions, events and happenings. So the first section below is dedicated to just that. A monthly list of events posted by Lodges in the District. So it's really helpful if Lodges pick someone who is brave and can navigate a website and or social media to post on their behalf, maybe even more than one.
The next section will be dedicated to DDGM and/or GLSO Posts, Lodge Posts, Webmaster Posts, Posts from anyone else who wishes to write up an article of Masonic interest. There are also more informal places for members to posts statuses, thoughts or short notes for all members to see (not published). Have a look through the District News and you'll see what's there, as this is the source of this section.
As more is required it will be added if seen as value to the members and subscribers. So please offer feedback, good or bad.
Once a few issues have been sent an archive will be made accessible to site visitors for back issues.
Finally information is only valuable if distributed. Information is - Data that is (1) accurate and timely, (2) specific and organized for a purpose, (3) presented within a context that gives it meaning and relevance, and (4) can lead to an increase in understanding and decrease in uncertainty.
Information is valuable because it can affect behavior, a decision, or an outcome.
Increasing event participation benefits all, get the information out there and reach your goals.
At current there are 533 subscribers to the newsletter.
